REQUIREMENTS GATHERING AND ANALYSIS

Defining my target audience:

My target audience is fairly broad, however it is mainly for people who are more interested in learning about the history of art and design and the impact it has had on modern art, this includes teachers, students and art professionals who may be looking to increase their knowledge in the art sector.

My stakeholders:

A stakeholder is a person, group, or, individual who can impact or be affected by a design project you're working on. This could include the head of a company, users, or regular day-to-day people who could be affected by the project at hand.

My project brief tells me that the stakeholders can be anyone interested in design, this means I can now begin to think about who exactly this might be and what I would do to cater to their needs when designing my website.

-Lecturers and teachers would be interested for resources.

-students who need help with potential assignments or examples of historical art

- any types of designers who could be looking for inspiration to implement into their own work.

My User's Needs:

- Users need to feel confident and sure when navigating the website
- Users need to be able to take inspiration from the website
- The website needs to inform users and aid their knowledge in the history and modern day of art and design.
- It is important that users get a hang of the buttons on the site automatically so they do not lose interest and find another website.
- The website needs to be fun and entertaining so users of all ages are intrigued and do not get bored.

Goals for my website to be a success

- aesthetic visual interpretations to keep user interactive.
- To show the difference and gradual change in art and design over the years.
- To deliver information in a clear and concise way, making the site simple and easy too navigate.

What will users consider to be a success?

When it comes to website design, a successful design is one that is simply functioning and easy to navigate. This makes it easier for users to work their way through the website without getting confused over all the mumble jumble. sometimes websites have an overwhelming mount of text which can make it more confusing for users, if they are unsure when navigating the website as well as the information they are seeking. Since my website is one scrolling page, I don't need to worry about making it more complicated by adding a bunch of tabs and pages which all link to each other as well as a homepage, as this would be much higher fidelity and there would be more room for things to go wrong. Users should be able to find exactly what they are looking for quickly and without spending loads of time trying to figure out the different functions.
